illustrate | interact | innovate

Through the use of interactive elements, Andrea Hempstead explores the intersection of visual signifiers, language and interpretation to create individual experiences for her audience. Hempstead provokes physical, emotional and cerebral interactions. She invites connection, engagement and reaction as the audience involvement in the narrative becomes the focus of her concepts. Hempstead’s paper sculptures, pop-ups, posters, motion, and digital interactive works can be personal or political. She visualizes her concepts through ink, watercolor, typography and digital art.

She has worked as an in-house designer taking on multiple media including web design and graphics, branding, advertising and publication design. She enjoys working for non-profits and taking on projects "for the greater good."

Hempstead is currently an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christ,  where she delights in helping the next generation achieve their graphic design dreams.
